Passes are non-refundable under any circumstances, but they may be transfered to another zouk dancer of the same role via our Pass Transfer portal.

So far we are unaware of anyone not being able to sell their pass if advertised at least a few days out from the event. We consistently sell out, so there are always people looking for a pass!

You can advertise your pass in our fb event chat, fb ZC travellers page and other zouk groups you may be a part of.

IMPORTANT: All transfers MUST go through our Pass Transfer portal. The ZC team no longer handles transfers manually.

Your pass may be transfered to another zouk dancer of the same role via our super easy Pass Transfer portal.

Zouk Central has 4 levels, Open, Intermediate, Advanced, plus Teacher Only Masterclasses.

Every hour of the workshop timetable includes a workshop of each level so that attendees can easily fill their day with workshops at their level, if they want!

Open: catered to beginners right through to advanced dancers. Concepts and techniques to help your fundamentals, connection, partnerwork and expression in your dance as well as fun variations of movements. You should know at least the first 6 fundamental movements: Frente e Tras, Lateral, Abetura, Viradinha, Elastico and Bonus.

Intermediate: Suited to those who know how to perform headmovement, counterbalances and spins. Ideally at least 1 year experience. This level will test the quality of your fundamentals to perform interesting variations and combinations of movements.

Advanced: Suited to those with 2+ years experience and confidence within complex headmovement, counterbalances, spins and especially very good connection and partnerwork. This level expects competence in the above movements as a start point and will build movements from here, and/or dive into complex concepts of connection and fundamentals. You must be confident in the above as this level can endanger you or your partner if you are not ready for it. Teaching level will not be lowered, attendees will be expected to either keep up or change workshops for the safety and enjoyment of others.

Masterclasses: Our highest level of the event, restricted access to zouk teachers only. Entry criteria is TBC very soon.

Zouk Central is a proudly 1:1 ratio event. However, leaders and followers seem to have different priorities and attendance habits especially for parties.

For followers looking to get in as much social dancing as they can, make sure to arrive to the parties early, leaders have this habit of arriving early and therefore leaving early (also to catch the morning workshops). Followers tend to arrive late and then leave late. This has meant the ratio has felt “off” even when the event is 1:1. 

Our DJs will be doing their best to encourage leaders to stay for longer at the parties, but the best way for followers to have a great amount of dancing is to arrive early with the leaders, rather than after many have gone to bed.

BOOKING: Please message the artist/s directly, normally Instagram is prefered, or approach in person.

PAYING: If your private lesson is with an international artist/s they will prefer payment via Wise or in some cases Revolut, but usually also accept cash. It is very quick and easy to set up an account with Wise/Revolut, and these are very useful for any overseas travel you may take in future.

STUDIO: Zouk Central hires a large studio (studio 4) at Viva Dance for anyone to take private lessons at the event, between midday and 5pm Friday and midday and 7pm Saturday and Sunday. This is a shared space, no booking needed for it within these hours.

Believe it or not, our official hotel Abstract competes in price and features with the most affordable Airbnb’s in the area. All rooms feature full kitchens, and you can select their most affordable studio rooms with 2 beds for easy sharing with a friend. Abstract is a sleek, new and modern, dark themed hotel only 2 minutes walk to the Party venue, and about 12 mins walk from Workshop venue.
